Nexus is a unique venue within the vibrant arts precinct of Adelaide's West End. For over 25 years, Nexus has been at the forefront of creative arts in Adelaide with a dynamic annual program of performing arts events in the Nexus Cabaret and visual art exhibitions in the Nexus Gallery. Nexus has a particular commitment and involvement with the multicultural arts sector and multicultural communities of South Australia.
Nexus can accommodate private functions, community events and corporate functions for up to 200 people in our Cabaret space. Both the Cabaret and the Gallery are licensed, non-smoking venues that are wheelchair friendly. Previous hirers include Arts SA, University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, National Association for the Visual Arts, Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia, Australia Council for the Arts and numerous ethnic and cultural community groups.
Cabaret Space
The beautiful Cabaret space recently underwent a $60,000 facelift, with fresh paint, an upgraded sound system, new cafe-style furniture and ambient lighting. The Cabaret is a multi-use professional performing arts venue suitable for theatre, cabaret, dance, community events, performances, workshops, rehearsals, lectures, seminars and forums. The Cabaret space is equipped with professional lighting and audio facilities, a bar and kitchen. Nexus can arrange bar staff, security staff, front of house staff, professional lighting and audio technicians and catering as needed. Seating can be arranged to suit your function, from traditional theatre style through to more intimate cabaret-style with tables.
